RailGuard Railway Predictive Maintenance Software
RailGuard is an IIoT railway monitoring solution that monitor track displacement in real-time using high precision monitoring equipment and cutting edge technology. RailGuard is also monitoring rail temperature in real-time with warning and alert capabilities.
The temperature monitoring is using predictive maintenance algorithms to calculate what the rail temperature will be in the future. In order to do this, a temperature probe is mounted on each rail and the temperature of the steel is measured once every hour and the data is send to our Cloud solution. The bespoke temperature probes are mounted under the rail with a mounting clamp which means that it can be mounted in a few minutes without changing the structure of the rail itself.

Cant / Tilt - Cross-Level / Profile monitoring
RailGuard is constantly monitoring the Cant and Tilt (Cross-level and Profile) of the track and notifying if the track is moving beyond the preset threshold values.
Track displacement and real-time monitoring is running constantly and ensuring that notifications are send instantly if something happens to the track.
Cellular Technology
RailGuard is connecting to the Internet in 180 different countries and is connecting using 2G, 3G or 4G.
The technology we are using is ensuring that we can always get an Internet connection even in remote locations.
Install and Forget
It only takes 5 minutes to install the RailGuard device on the track. The next visit to the installed RailGuard is in one year when the battery have to be replaced.
RailGuard Track Condition Monitoring Device
Made to operate in the harsh railroad environment
RailGuard is milled out of one piece of aluminum and weigh 7 kg (15.4 lbs)
It is anodized with at the same specifications as NASA is using for deep space equipment and the clamp and lid is powder coated signal yellow.
RailGuard have been tested under 1 meter of water for up to 48 hours while operating and delivering data.
Temperature Prediction
RailGuard is using ambient temperature, weather forecast and rail core temperature together with Cloud based Predictive Maintenance algorithms to calculate and foresee the future temperature in the rail.
This information is being used to help optimize planning and also prevent derailment of train due to rail buckling during heat waves.
One Year Battery Lifetime
The RailGuard solution is powered by two Li-Po rechargeable batteries.
The battery life time standard configuration is one year.
GPS Positioning
The RailGuard is equipped with GPS positioning and all devices are shown in our intuitive portal where complete track geometry and is track together with telemetry data and incidents.
